Republican, Position #5
I have been a strong library supporter since 2012 as both a donor and volunteer. I supported the measure to form the library district in 2017. The library is the heart of our community, and I would be honored to serve on the library district board of directors.
I have lived and worked in Grants Pass for 37 years as a small-business owner of Powderhorn Cafe. I have been involved in many local nonprofit organizations including Josephine Community Libraries, Inc., Rotary Club of Grants Pass, the Town Center Association, Barnstormers, and Mental Health Court.
I co-founded the nonprofit Heart to Heart to bring automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to every school in Grants Pass and helped to establish this as law for all schools in Oregon. I am currently president-elect for the Rotary Club of Grants Pass and will serve as president for 2023-24.
I believe in the Rotary Four-Way Test as a guiding principle in all that I say and do: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Is it beneficial to all concerned?
My team won the library’s Cow Scrabble Tournament multiple times, with the Cow Trophy proudly displayed in front of the Powderhorn in downtown Grants Pass.
I am inspired by our community's support of our library. As a board member, I will serve and adhere to the U.S. Constitution and the First Amendment, and provide oversight of library policy. I believe Americans have the right to choose what they will and will not read for themselves and their children. Libraries are here to serve everyone in the community.
I would appreciate your vote and I will work hard to keep our library available to our community.
I am proud to be endorsed by James Lowe, Debbie Thomason, People for Oregon Libraries PAC, and Libraries for Our Community PAC.
