Candidate Statement

Having served on the library board for the past four years, I’m committed to ensuring that the First Amendment is upheld. I support free and open access to a collection of books and other materials representing all points of view. Some individuals in this community seek to undermine this key value. If they were to succeed, our libraries would be in real jeopardy.

I’m running to maintain a strong library district that:

Protects the freedom to read,
Builds healthy and vibrant communities, and
Provides updated & enhanced physical and virtual spaces for lifelong learning.

Nearly 20 years of leadership experience:

Nonprofit executive director for 10 years
Current President of the Rogue Gateway Rotary Club; Past President in 2013–2014
Assistant Governor for Rotary District 5110 from 2015–2018; leadership trainer and facilitator from 2016–2019
Member of steering committee that established the SOELS Early Learning Hub; Chair of the Agency Advisory Council in its first year
Graduate of the Ford Institute Leadership Program
Completed Master’s degree in Organizational Leadership from Gonzaga University

Love and Dedication to This Community

Born and raised in Grants Pass, I practically lived in the library. I volunteered there as a teen, and again as an adult when we fought to reopen a publicly funded library system.

I’m a committed steward of the library that serves as a community hub of lifelong learning, with relevant services for every demographic. Vote to re-elect me so we can protect the freedom to read guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.
